The wolf is an extremely fascinating animal.
Years ago, I was sunbathing together with my little red cat. We were on a meadow overlooking the forest. At one point I heard the little cat growling, clearly angry at something. I opened my eyes and saw a few metres away an Apennine wolf watching us, motionless.
We looked into each other’s eyes for a very brief moment. I was in shock – as for the wolf, who know what it was feeling. It ran away, and so did I. My heart pounded for a half hour.
The cat took it more lightly (I think). I was going through a difficult time, as I had to make a decision and didn’t have the courage.
I had the unmistakable and immediate feeling that by looking at me, the wolf said: “I am watching you, don’t do anything stupid”.
